Tucked away in the middle of Berrima,
The Journeyman Restaurant is down the steps between Berrima Galleries and The Lolly Swagman (see map below).

There are two cosy fires inside for comfortable dining during the Highlands' cooler months, and you can have an informal lunch outside on the sheltered verandah, in the vine-covered courtyard or on the garden terrace as the weather warms into Spring and Summer.

The food is Contemporary Australian. Tim experiments with flavours and our regular customers describe Journeyman food as the most imaginative available in the Southern Highlands. We have an evolving menu with dishes created according to season and as fresh produce becomes available - every couple of weeks Tim adds new dishes and takes some old ones off.

The a la Carte Menu is available at lunch and dinner. It has five or six entrees priced at $19.50 and six or seven main courses at $32. Desserts are $13.

The Chef's Tasting Menu is also available at lunch and dinner. It is $80 for seven gourmet courses, or $120 with fine wines matched to each dish.

The Journeyman Junior Menu for our younger patrons is $12.50.

The LuncheonBites Menu is a 2007 innovation at the Journeyman. It has an exciting selection of small dishes (about two-thirds entree size) from which you may choose several and design your own lunch. (Dishes are priced from $8 to $14.)

At the journeyman we happily cater for special dietary requirements and food preferences. There is a vegetarian dish included in the entree and main course menus. Tim can also produce special dishes of your own choice if you let him know when you make your booking.

The wine list has been selected by our Sommelier Deb Pearce-Pratt. Over 200 wines are on the list, with 20 available by the glass. The Restaurant and Catering Association judged it the best wine list in the Southern Coastal Region in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Deb will happily advise on the wines - Highlands local, Australian and overseas - that you may wish to choose to go with your meal.

Bring your own wine is welcome at all lunches and at dinnertimes except Saturday. The BYO service charge is $3.50 per person.
