Highland Nannies

OUR HISTORY

Highland Nannies was founded mid-year 2006.

I am a single mother of young twins and after I broke my leg I found it very difficult to get any help with the children, of any kind - both to babysit or longer nanny assistance.

So I decided then to start my own BOOKING SERVICE. Through my experiences with my own children I feel very well equipped to know first-hand what the requirements and demands are for such services.

I now have, at any one time, up to 25 screened and experienced girls on my books. They range from young energetic girls who can "play/entertain" with children, through to career-carers who have qualifications such as a nursing or first aid certificate, which is suitable for new-borns and up to 2 year olds.

The area I can facilitate is restricted to the Southern Highlands.

RATES

The current rates are as follows: (up-dated 1/1/09)

Baby sitting rate of $20.00 per hour - 4 hour minimum per booking Can be paid directly to the sitter on the day/night.

Plus a booking fee to Highland Nannies of $25.00 which represents a one-off fee paid by credit card of direct debit prior to the booking being made. Non- refundable.

Long term Nannies are usually negotiable, but a guide would be between $18.00 to $25.00 per hour of work.

The area of negotiation often depends on:

  • Age of child/children
  • Number of children
  • Total hours per week
  • Form of payment (i.e. inclusive of super etc.)
  • Use of own car for school pick-up and/or extra activities
  • Distance of travel to/from place of work (i.e petrol money may be required)
  • Any housework other than child related jobs which might be required (e.g. cleaning/ironing)

To facilitate this placement service there is an initial $50.00 search fee to Highland Nannies. This can be paid by credit card on the phone but must be made before any search can commence.

We then will make the appropriate calls to available and suitable girls.

You can then meet from one to three suitable applicants for the position in your home, preferably with your child/children present if possible.

All negotiation should be made at this interview directly with the Nanny as everyone's requirements are very different and have to be specifically dealt with.

From these interviews a choice can be made and following further discussion with me, we can secure the Nanny service for you.

Once the Nanny has completed her first week's work then a further payment to Highland Nannies has to be paid.

This is a placement fee and is based on 80% of the first week's salary paid.

KIDS CLUB

We can also organize an informal "Kids Club" for conferences or groups with children who may need daytime/evening entertainment as a group.

This requires due notice and the costs are negotiable.

TESTIMONIALS

Just to thank you again and all your team for making the weekend for the children as it should be. They did enjoy themselves and Felicity certainly was a star.   When I do a family weekend, with children, knowing that they are happy, makes a whole difference to the parents and how the weekend activities run.  So once again thank you. (Ruth Lilian OAM, L&R Contract Business Services)

Just a quick note to thank you for organising a babysitter for us during our trip to Robertson on December 6.   Sarah was beyond wonderful - the children warmed to her right away and Alice has asked to see her again. As it turned out, we were running quite late to meet Sarah and we were without phone reception to call her. Yet she stayed at the (completely deserted) hotel until we arrived and was absolutely cheerful about being kept waiting.   Thank you again for sending us such a treasure! (Wendy)
