Sentinel Farm Cottage is an inviting two storey cottage situated on 27 acres of beautiful countryside with views of undulating hills leading to the escarpment overlooking the coast, and just a short distance from the village of Robertson with its historic hotel, craft shops and boutiques.
Nearby are lookouts, waterfalls, and national parks with walking trails through subtropical rainforests abounding in native wildlife.
And a short drive away are the many country towns and villages and other attractions of the Highlands.
Sentinel Farm Cottage - with its four and a half star AAA rating - is fully self-contained and has accommodation for up to 8 people.
Entertain your family and friends in the living area with its verandahs on two sides and views over the gardens.
Here the cathedral ceiling shelters a living room with comfortable country furniture and dining area. TV, VCR, CD and DVD player are provided for your entertainment. Doors lead out onto the verandah where you can relax and enjoy the view, take breakfast, or enjoy a BBQ lunch (gas BBQ provided).
Gas heating and airconditioning make the cottage cosy all year round, and a phone allows you to make local calls or receive messages.
The fully equipped kitchen opens onto the living area and is provided with all facilities for your catering: fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric cooktop and oven, and all utensils and tableware.
For your stay generous provisions are provided - sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, plus cereals, raisin toast and bread, preserves, and tea and coffee for your choice to make breakfast.
Sentinel Farm Cottage has three bedrooms. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms with queen sized beds with their own sitting areas and views over the gardens.
Downstairs there is a bedroom with twin beds (and an extra TV to entertain the kids). A sofa bed allows for accommodation for an extra couple.
All linen is provided.
A bathroom here serves the cottage with a shower and bath and separate toilet.
There is also a laundry with washer, dryer and ironing facilities to cater for longer stays.
During your stay you are invited to explore the property - land with a history.
The cottage stands on land originally built as a golf course for the famous Hotel Robertson in the 1920s (later a monastery, now Ranelagh Guesthouse). It became a farm in the 1930s.
Today Sentinel Farm has acres of landscaped gardens with daffodils in spring, rhododendrons, azaleas and roses and the red-gold colours of deciduous trees in autumn.
Macquarie Rivulet flows through the farm, through the dam, and down Macquarie Pass to the coast. The cottage, built in the 1990s, overlooks fields where cows now graze.
Close to Robertson, Sentinel Farm Cottage is also very secluded and private - the perfect place for a getaway.
